ASEAN UNITE 2011 main event was conducted in 2 days, 8th - 9th December 2011 at SMESCO, Nareswara Room.

The Seminar was aimed to give some knowledge about three important pillars of ASEAN Community, such as economic, security-political, and social-cultural. There was six super interesting sessions, regarding the ASEAN Community forming in 2015.

“Say HELLO to ASEAN COMMUNITY”
Enhancing Awareness of ASEAN to Youth

This session was presented by Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Director General of ASEAN Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs RI.

“Socio-political-security Impact and Challenges”
Revealing the socio political implications around ASEAN countries and what challenges Indonesia.

This session was presented by:
- Mrs. Ratna Shofie Inayati, MBA (P2P LIPI),

- Mrs. Dra. Awani Irewati, ME (P2P LIPI),

- Mrs. Lina A. Alexandra (Researcher at the Department of International Relations, Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)).

“Implications on Free Trade Agreement between ASEAN Countries”

Economical Implications on ASEAN Integration and Challenges to Indonesia

This session was presented by Mr. Herjuno Ndaru Kinasih, M.Si (Institute for Global Justice).

“Implications on Business Climate and Entrepreneurship strategy”

This session was presented by:

- Mr. Adil Hakim, M.bc, MaP (Head of International Relations and Good Governance Division of HIPMI),

- Mr. Armela (SMESCO representative).

“Woman’s Organizations Breakthrough Movement”
How it will affect the womans’s movement and woman emancipations.

This session was presented by Mrs. Dr. Dewi Motik Pramono, from KOWANI.

“Economic Impact and challenges to the ASEAN Economic Community”
Revealling the economical implications around ASEAN countries and what challenges Indonesia.

This session was presented by Mr. Ir. Sugiharso Safuan, ME, Ph.D., lecturer in Faculty of Economic, University of Indonesia.

The Seminar was ended with the delegates made a big circle with the OCs to share their opinion about the seminar, their expectation for the next day, and also gave some informations about the Conference day that explained by Badaruddin Motik as Project Coordinator.

Day 2 – Youth Model ASEAN Conference 2011

This event was aimed to solve the various issues that come from three important aspects that elated to the formation of the union in 2015, such as such as ASEAN Economic Community, ASEAN Security-Political Community, and ASEAN Social-Cultural Community. The flow of conference was adapted from IMUN. The Directors for this conference were Garlan, Ghea, Andina, and Andre.

The Delegates were very excited and proactive during the conference. In the beginning, they were divided into some groups and made a learning circle where they must discuss and choose one the most important topic and made an opening statement, why they choose the chosen topic. The EPs walked around to trigger the delegates and have a discussion with the delegates. After the break, they started to give their statement and then do a voting to vote which topic that will be discuss in the conference. And the chosen topic was “ASEAN Social-Cultural Community”.

The Delegates were very proactive in giving their taught and opinion. There were some topics came out while in Moderated Caucus time, such as Building common sense for ASEAN people, Diversity and Identifying The Cultures in ASEAN, Appreciating ASEAN Culture, ASEAN Curriculum in Elementary Education, The details of ASEAN Day, Youth Networking Community in ASEAN, and How Do We Manage The Youth For The Sake of ASEAN Unity. The debate was come over and over again until 17.30 pm and after that they made a draft of resolution. There are two draft of resolution were introduced and debated. Finally, after long debate, we have one Final Draft of Resolution that already gave to the Directorate General of ASEAN Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs RI.

ASEAN UNITE 2011 was closed by Gala Dinner after the conference. After all of us had a dinner, we announced some reward for the delegates such as:

-       The First Best Delegates was given to Andre Revian Danu from President University, he got 1 Free Voucher to spent one night in Kalicaa Villa Tanjung Lesung ( 2 Bedroom for 4 person – Rp 3.200.000)

-       The Second Best Delegates got 1 Free Voucher to spent one night in Kalicaa Villa Tanjung Lesung ( 2 bedroom for 4 person – Rp. 2.600.000)

-       The Honorable Delegates was given to three people and they got Voucher Discount Rp 500.000 to holiday in Kalicaa Tanjung Lesung.

And after that we watched the closing video, done the roll dance together, and took some picture together.
